Family Leporidae. Hares are distributed throughout the world. They weigh about 1-5 kg and reach a length of about 30-60 cm; they usually feed at night, mainly grasses, tree bark and vegetables. They prefer to live in regions where the soil is loose, dry and where shrubs offer shelter. Brings 4-8 litters per year, with 3-8 cubs. The gestation period lasts about a month. The life span is up to 10 years.
