A family of cats. This is the largest cat in the world with three main subspecies: Siberian, Bengal, Sumatran, brindle. Modern tigers originated in northern Asia and subsequently spread south across the Himalayas. It is 1.4–2.8 m long, not counting the tail, which is 69 to 95 cm long. They feed on deer, cattle, frogs, and fish; also eat carrion. A tigress bears 1-6 cubs, which stay with her for two years.
