Labradors are a breed of sporting dogs trained to detect and retrieve dead or injured water birds and pheasants. Bred in Canada, brought to England in the early 19th century. The male is about 56 cm at the withers, weighs 25-32 kg; the female is slightly smaller. The dog has a short and extremely thick coat of black, yellow, chocolate color.
