A cat is a member of the cat family. A small, mostly carnivorous animal. About 40 breeds of domestic cats are internationally recognized. The gestation period is about 65 days; medium litter of four kittens. Kittens are born blind, deaf and helpless. Their eyes open at the age of 8-10 days,  they begin to wean from the breast about six weeks after birth. Lifespan  is about 15 years old.
