A family of cats. This is the largest cat in the world with three main subspecies: Siberian, Bengal, Sumatran, brindle. Modern tigers originated in northern Asia and subsequently spread south across the Himalayas. Its length reaches 1.4–2.8 m, not counting the tail, which can be 69–95 cm long. The diet consists of deer, cattle, frogs and fish; also eat carrion. A tigress bears 1-6 cubs that stay with her for two years.
