Compared to the F2012, the 2013 Ferrari F1 (F138) marked a definite comeback, even though the bonnet featured a new shape (which was completely uncharacteristic of a Ferrari).  After a promising start to the season - two successes from Alonso (China and Spain) and several second places, the F138's competitiveness dipped, leaving Vettel in fourth place. Alonso finished second ahead of the Red Bull drivers.
